It's a truly blessed day— Isaac received two new lungs on 5/1/14 and is recovering well in the ICU at Keck Hospital of USC.

Yes - Ike's attitude and determination have been inspirational - I will be thinking about Ike, sending positive warm wishes his way for his speedy recovery - knowing Ike, it will be a speedy recovery - toward his new life without oxygen tanks! cindy idell

In the next few weeks Ike will be able to play "hold your breath" with a balloon and win. . .that's just how tough he is.

ReplyDeleteIke and I spoke last night. I am totally amazed! He sounded like he did twenty years ago. He is feeling extremely well under the circumstances.
I know he appreciates hearing from all of you. Thanks again for your posts.
I sent Cheryl the blog address as Ike's phone needs a charge so I am sure we will get an update soon.

Ike is out of ICU, breathing on his own and doing good.
ReplyDeleteIke's sister Peggy here thanking you all for your well wishes and prayers. Ike is doing amazingly well. There's talk of him being released from the hospital late this week.
ReplyDeleteHave had computer issues so very late to this though on behalf of our family want to express deep appreciation to Doug and Family and to Cheryl for the fantastic help and support during this time.

ReplyDeleteThey've decided to keep Ike over the weekend due to a small amount of fluid in one of his lungs. He's doing very well though and will likely be released Monday. This will give us time to get the house in order over the weekend. Our mom, Cindy and I will be there with our fabulous cousin Terri and hopeing we'll get to spend some time with Cheryl. Again, thank you all for your thoughts and well-wishes.
